The LE40R74BDX DTV can lock up and that module can only be reset by a service visit (you pay for this when it's out of warranty). It's possible to reset via Remote but samsung wont tell you how (tv on, power button, info, menu, mute, power button) and then you can do a full reset.

LE40R74BDX Review 2: Did not plan on buying a new TV just yet but when i saw this LE40R74BDX model it was too good an offer to turn down. TV is superb and was set up in 10 mins. Analogue and freeview channels set up automatically. The sound and picture are excellent and looks great in the living room. The old 28" TV now looks like a portable. Delivery was very good with no problems at all.

Review 3: bought the 26" version of this tv awhile back and it's the best tv I'v ever had! I was soo impressed that I brought the 40" LE40R74BDX version and It's a monster! this thing is hugh lol. Really nice picture and in my opinion the sound is just as good. If you have hearing like superman and think the sound on this tv is bad, I have hooked it up to my hifi and the sound is brilliant!

LE40R74BDX Review 4: This is a fantastic TV for its current price!! I just received it yesterday and replaced my old 28inch crt with it! It was straightforward to set up as the tv does all the tuning, i had to fine tune a few channels though!! The picture is impressive for SD, the freeview is even better though!! Tuned in the Sky through the aerial and it was very pixalated so hooked it up through the scart aswell and it is amazing, the films and football are very clear!! DVD's even through the scart cable look amazing, as do videos!! The sound is reasonably impressive considering other peoples views!! The XBOX360 was the reason for buying the TV and it didn't disapoint, I have got the VGA cable on order so that i can upscale my DVD's! The TV is packed with features to fiddle around with and it comes with the connections you would expect from a top quality Tv!! Overall this is a great Tv and I wouldn't go for anything smaller as it gives you a great viewing experience no matter what your watching and it is very stylish both on and off!!

LE40R74BDX Review 5: Great TV - This is the new generation of Samsungs cutting edge technology. The Samsung L40R74BDX looks slick dressed all in black, and makes a change to the usual silver screens that seem to be monopolising the market.

Sit back and take in the HD picture on this 40 inch widescreen telly. With a screen resolution of 1366 x 768 the Samsung L40R74BDX has a contrast of 5000:1 which makes it brighter and crisper than its rivals Sony.

And Samsungs unique Digital Natural Image Engine enhances colour, contrast, motion and clarity within the picture.

Theres a PIP (Picture in Picture) feature which is a bit of a gimmick but we like it. What it does is it opens up a second smaller window on your main screen allowing you to watch two programmes at once - so next time the adverts are on you can watch something else until your show resumes.

Similar to Sonys Bravia, the L40R74BDX has a 178 degree viewing angle giving you the option of sitting anywhere in the room and still getting a good picture. It comes with a whole host of features including IDTV, 1,000 page text, PC connectivity, auto volume leveller and composite connections

Finally, the standards - Its got HDMI connectivity so therell be no reason to not watch true colour images, S-video and two Scart plugs.
